The New Mexico Badlands Photo Tour focus on an area largely made up of an extensive area of badlands such as Bisti/De-Na-Zin and Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah.
We will start and end our adventure in Albuquerque, NM. If you are flying in I will pick you up at the airport at arrival and drop up you off at the airport at the end of our tour.
This tour requires good health and physical condition. Be prepared for daily hikes and camping in the wilderness.
The photo tour is suited for beginners, advanced and semi-pro photographers. Participants must have a working knowledge of their camera.
Date: April 13-19, 2021
This tour offers an in-depth exploration of the badlands located in the northwestern part of New Mexico. These badlands are known as Bisti/De-Na-Zin and Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah. They hide some exquisite rock formations and hoodoos which are unparalleled to anywhere else. We will be out in search for unique and novel compositions at sunrise, sunset and during the night for some awesome astrophotography including light painting.
Strenuous rating: Moderate. As a mainly camping based workshop participants should become prepared for an outdoor experience. I have a restroom shelter and potable water at the campsite. Drinking water is available all time. The restroom shelter can also be used for a hot water shower. Individual tents can be provided. You will have to bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad.

Any trips I organize or organize with another photographer are private and non-business. I am a physician by trade and I take people along with me on my trips because I enjoy the company and the opportunity to help people get to know and photograph the Southwest. I do not make a business out of it. My goal is to have a pleasant, safe trip with artistic value photography as a result. We share expenses, gear, ideas, and experiences. We will not be going anyplace on public lands that are not generally open to the public. No photographs you take on public lands may be used to promote the sale or use of a product or service. We will not do any “commercial filming” as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.
We will respect nature, leave only footprints where we are allowed to leave footprints, and take only our images, memories, and friendships home with us.
